Artek, High-End Design Pieces
Artek is a well-known Finnish firm specializing in modern furniture design, accessories, and lighting. It has been one of the major references in 20th-century European design, founded by four great masters of the time: Alvar and Aino Aalto, Guillchsen Maire, and Hahl Nils-Gustav.
As a result of this collaboration, the company was created with the idea of developing and producing pieces created by Alvar Aalto himself. However, this initial project evolved to encompass much more, incorporating two key concepts into the designs: art and technology.
Simplicity as the main ingredient
Because of this, Artek has managed to establish itself internationally, with many of its pieces chosen for decoration projects, museums, exhibitions, and various public and private spaces.
Regarding its creative process, the company adheres to the principles of clarity, functionality, and simplicity, present in each of its collections. Additionally, it is concerned about the safety and quality of its materials, which earned it the German Sustainable Design Award in 2021.
