Porro, experts in interior furniture design
Porro was founded in Brianza, the traditional birthplace of quality Italian furniture. Since 1925, the Porro family has led the company with a vision of interior furniture design that combines the craftsmanship traditions of the time with today’s cutting-edge production and computer technologies.
The culture of furniture as a family heritage, along with the principles governing production (clean lines, regular shapes, functionality), have allowed Porro to gradually secure a large portion of the international market.
This significant legacy has always been shared with many leading Italian and international designers, such as Piero Lissoni, the firm’s art director since 1989; Jean Marie Massaud, Christophe Pillet, Piergiorgio Cazzaniga, Ferruccio Laviani, Decoma Design, Elisa Ossino, Werner Aisslinger, and Wolfgang Tolk, whose collaborative efforts have helped position Porro collections at the forefront of the furniture sector.
70% of Porro’s production consists of systems for daytime and nighttime environments, both for domestic and work settings, where the value of design stands out, almost visibly in three dimensions in the finished products.
Passion for luxury and details
Porro’s approach to interior furniture design places great importance on details: invisible hinges or push-pull opening mechanisms, concealed fastening elements for shelves, and quietly operating hidden runners on ball bearings, making the Porro environment almost noise-free, relaxing, and pleasant to live in.
Unique technologies, some of which are patented, are used in manufacturing, giving greater substance and value to the product’s identity.
Porro’s production is complemented by a range of closed wardrobes and walk-in closets, beds, shelves, chairs, and tables, as well as decorative accessories that not only look good with Porro furniture but also enhance any type of interior environment, from the simplest and sober to the most eclectic and decorative.
The most commonly used materials are wood, glass, marble, and aluminium. Natural and simple materials used alongside high technology: another example of the fusion of tradition and innovation.
The entire ecosystem of Porro’s interior furniture design is based on firm principles of design and function; the ranges feature different quality finishes, material combinations, and colours, so each product can reflect the person who chose it. Indeed, the entire production range offers a wide variety of combinations and finishes. In a word, personalised.
